Carry-On Washing Machine

I loved our last cruise in many ways but was thoroughly unimpressed with their system for forcing you to give them crazy money for laundry.

For a 10-day cruise they didn't have a self-service laundry, and they charged $60(!!!) for a load of regular ol' clothes. Not a huge load, and we're not talking stuff that needs ironing or special care.

No biggie, right? We had a balcony cabin. So just hand wash a few things and hang them out to dry. But nope, you're not allowed to hang stuff outside because it looks bad in port. Yo, Norwegian, you know what else looks bad in port? Your passengers getting off on filthy clothes, complaining loudly about how greedy you are.

Anyway, we're getting on another cruise tomorrow. This one for 16 nights. And also no self-service laundry. Their price for washing our stuff is slightly less outrageous, but I'm still not willing to pay it for as much laundry as we'll need done in that time.

So today I wandered around Civitavecchia, looking for anything that might make my life a little easier. And I'm pretty sure I've found it.
