One Patch to Rule Them All

This should have been the year our souvenir patch board was filled with new patches. Already, we would have collected them from London, Copenhagen, Chamonix, and plenty of other spots along the route. Though missing out on the patches themselves isn’t exactly the biggest disappointment of 2020, it’s really symbolic for me and therefore feels pretty f***ing terrible.

My sister knows this about me, so when she saw a friend of a friend’s post about patches, she immediately told me about it. And man, if there is a better recipient for this item than me, I’d love to meet them.

The perfection of this patch brings me a sick amount of joy. It arrived today and is prominently displayed in the empty part of our corkboard that had been waiting to be filled from our 2020 adventures. Take a look for yourselves:

Am I right? Don’t bother answering. I know I am. This 2020 dumpster fire patch is the perfect summary of the year, for all of us. For the whole world.

So, while I’d rather be collecting patch after patch from gift shops around the world, in the meantime I’m going to stare wistfully at this one to pass the endless days of going nowhere.
